A remote job card shows a laptop, location pin, work-hours clock, and highlighted requirements beside three review trays.
Check the stated location requirements and keep unknowns visible.

Country chooses the source site, not a worker country or legal permission. The filters `remoteOnly=true` and `isRemote` are candidate evidence, not eligibility verdicts. You use the remote Task and Actor to collect rows. Replace the query and country. Start with one query and `maxItems=2`. Keep `saveOnlyUniqueItems=true`. The `maxItems` limit is shared across keywords.

Retain these exact fields: `jobId`, `jobUrl`, `title`, `companyName`, `locationRaw`, `isRemote`, `descriptionStatus`, `descriptionSnippet`, `descriptionText`, `scrapedAt`, and `applyUrl`. Values can be missing. Full source text and source-match checks are needed. A snippet or missing description cannot support all conditions. The current two-row control checked full descriptions, not any live remote eligibility case. All example eligibility is fiction and manual review. Eligibility is a match to stated conditions, not a legal decision.

Complete Method for Remote Location Checks

  1. Write your own location, work permission, available hours, and travel limits. Treat legal uncertainty as a reason to verify, not something a scraped flag can settle.
  2. Collect a small remote-filtered sample in the source country. Save the original rows and check for failures. A missing description cannot support a full eligibility decision.
  3. Read the full source text. Keep exact condition passages in your notes, along with the source URL and check date. Separate permitted residence, office location, work permission, time-zone overlap, travel, and in-person attendance. One location field cannot represent all of these.
  4. Mark each requirement as a match, a conflict, not stated, or unclear. Keep not stated distinct from no restriction. Remote-first and work-from-anywhere are words to verify in context, not automatic approval. Hybrid duties require an explicit attendance check.
  5. Combine the condition checks conservatively. One clear required conflict means you exclude the job. All material conditions stated and matching means you are eligible on stated conditions, subject to employer confirmation. Missing or unclear material conditions mean you must verify first. This simple rule does not predict selection or hiring.
  6. Use the official source or recruiter route to clarify an unknown if you choose. Save the answer and date. The data tool and this article do not contact anyone or submit an application.
  7. Deliver an eligibility table and the reason for each next action. Keep skill ranking as a later separate step. Recheck source conditions before applying because descriptions can change.

Fictional Worked Example

All postings and applicant facts below are invented for teaching purposes. A fictional applicant lives in Ontario, Canada, has Canadian work authorization, can attend 10:00 to 14:00 Eastern time, cannot attend a weekly United States office, and has not established United States work authorization.

  • Listing A: Says remote within Canada, work authorization in Canada required, shared hours 10:00 to 14:00 Eastern, no office travel stated.
  • Listing B: Says remote within United States only and United States work authorization required.
  • Listing C: Says remote but must attend a Boston office every Friday.
  • Listing D: Says remote, work across time zones, but states neither residence nor required shared hours.
  • Listing E: Explicitly says remote within Canada, Canadian authorization required, shared hours 10:00 to 14:00 Eastern, no in-person attendance or travel required.

This completed five-row table has one stated-condition match for Listing E, two clear conflicts for Listings B and C, and two pending items for Listings A and D. The match rate of 1 out of 5, which equals 20 percent, describes only this invented sample. It is not an estimate of the remote job market or your hiring odds. If a source flag shows remote for all five rows, it still cannot replace this manual condition table. The final useful output is the full reason for each row, not a remote percentage.
