Setup and Profile Contract
Replace the whole saved two-profile sample list with one intended known profile in startUrls.
The current Instagram Profile build 0.1.26 takes startUrls with 1 to 1,000 public profile URLs, @handles, or plain handles. Exact duplicate input strings are checked once. One row represents one attempted input, including unavailable-status rows.
The native fields are input, channelId, eimuId, fbid, channelUrl, handle, displayName, description, externalUrl, bioLinks, biographyEntities, detectedEmails, detectedLinks, businessContactMethod, businessEmail, businessPhoneNumber, businessAddress, shouldShowPublicContacts, status, statusReason, observedAt, and isBillable. Use the exact spelling eimuId. The fbid is Meta-linked and is not a Facebook Page ID.
A profile status can be ok, partial, private, login_required, not_found, blocked, challenge, rate_limited, parser_miss, invalid_input, or failed. Keep statusReason and observedAt. The OUTPUT reports requestedChannels, acceptedProfileInputs, rejectedInputs, datasetRows, usefulRows, billableRows, nonUsefulRows, and statusCounts.
A test with one NASA profile returned status ok, the correct channelId, canonical channelUrl, handle, description, externalUrl, detectedLinks, and five bioLinks. Its detectedEmails was an empty array, and direct business email or phone were null. This proves identity and link support, not that every account has contact data.
Important contact fields include externalUrl, bioLinks, detectedLinks, detectedEmails, businessEmail, businessPhoneNumber, businessContactMethod, and shouldShowPublicContacts. A contact button flag is not the contact value.
Step-by-Step Method
- Begin with known public profiles and a stated contact purpose. The tool extracts publicly exposed profile clues from supplied URLs, not search a regional database.
- Test one profile and check source identity, status, and time before using any link. Save original fields separately. A contact button flag is not the contact value.
- Make one route record per unique candidate link or email-like clue, with profile ID, source field, raw value, observedAt, proposed route type, and review state. Keep field provenance. Normalize host case and trailing slashes safely.
- Distinguish a public link in bioLinks or externalUrl from a detected link in description text. Both are candidates. A mailto route is a public address string, not proof that mail will deliver. Missing public email or phone remains unavailable.
- Open the intended public linked page manually. Record final destination and whether it belongs to the same creator, offers a business contact form, redirects elsewhere, or is unavailable. The tool does not crawl that site.
- Use a narrow review state: unreviewed, checked_public_route, ambiguous, unavailable, or rejected. A checked public route means only a dated manual source match at that time, not verified ownership or deliverability.
- Deduplicate routes for the same verified profile while retaining field and source references. Keep unrelated link hubs and affiliate redirects separate. Record conflicts instead of guessing.
- Deliver a source-linked contact-route register with manual evidence and next action. This guide stops at checked routes and does not send messages.
Fictional Worked Example
*(Note: The following is an original fictional example to show the method.)*
Fictional creator ID10001 returns externalUrl `https://green.example/contact`, bioLinks containing that same URL and `https://links.example/green`, detectedEmails `["hello@green.example"]`, and businessEmail `null`. Four clues yield three distinct route candidates after keeping provenance. Manual inspection finds `green.example/contact` is a matching public business form, the link hub redirects to an unrelated account, and the detected email cannot be confirmed on any matching public page. Mark form checked_public_route, hub rejected with reason, email ambiguous. One checked route out of three reviewed candidates is a route-review count, not an email validity rate. The direct businessEmail field remains null. A second profile blocked at collection has no usable contact evidence; it does not prove the creator has no business contact.
Route Evidence Table
| Creator & Source URL | Field Provenance | Raw Candidate | Manual Final URL & Date | Evidence & State |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `channelId10001`
`https://www.instagram.com/greenstudio/` | `externalUrl`, `bioLinks` | `https://green.example/contact` | `https://green.example/contact`
Checked: 2026-10-13 | Matching public business form, `checked_public_route` |
| `channelId10001`
`https://www.instagram.com/greenstudio/` | `bioLinks` | `https://links.example/green` | `https://other.example/profile`
Checked: 2026-10-13 | Redirects to fictional unrelated account, `rejected` |
| `channelId10001`
`https://www.instagram.com/greenstudio/` | `detectedEmails` | `hello@green.example` | None / Unconfirmed
Checked: 2026-10-13 | No confirmed matching final public source, `ambiguous` |
Tool Limits and Scope
Actor collects clues, reader checks destinations manually; no external crawling or deliverability proof.
